At last the garden is beginning to perk up a bit.

Had a wander round with the camera earlier.

How lovely! Is the 'don't know' a thistle? The boys have one as a logo for their school and it looks just like that.

I particularly love the poppies and lupins. I'm culivating them as allotment flowers (together with delphiniums and hollyhocks) as sadly I don't really have space in our gardens at home.

No - it is too small and is marroon rather than purple. I assume it is from the thistle family.

I like lupins as cut flowers for the house. Delphiniums don't do well here but I did have nice hollyhock last year - not seen it yet this year.

Lovely plants, coming on well CM. I have the Hagley hybrid - bought the 4 RHS bi-centennial clematis. Only one didn't survive - the red one, can't remember the name. The Hagley has the biggest flowers and is quite stunning.

Your garden looks lovely CM, think my favourite is the White Azalea.

Looking great, CM! I love the poppies and lupins, delphiniums don't do well here also: too hot and humid.

That really does look like a thistle!

That was one of the reasons I bought it. The leaves are prickly too. I have a label for it somewhere - must go have a look.
