What a lovely delicate shade of pink those peonies are. :D The red ones will look stunning with your acer in the background too. So is this the year of the peony for you, Kazz?

Are the poppies hard to grow? The petals look like tissue paper, those and the peonies look very exotic :D

Fantastic pictures Kazz, My peonies are out in flower now I will take some pictures later.

PP Poppies are very easy to grow just sprinkle the seeds and watch them come up, they self sow each year as well.

PP Poppy petals are like tissue paper thats exactly what they remind me of and so easy to grow as Emma says just sprinkle seed and almost stand back.........I know some poppy seeds lay dormant in the ground for years until the ground is disturbed hence fields of poppies, and of couse if you recall the pictures in WWI of poppies in battle fields......due to the horses machienery men passing thorugh and the bombs too I imagine, after the devestation of war poppies grow.

I love those pink poppies! I like the red, but they really do give totally different effects.

Someone has red poppies on one of the allotments - they're so beautiful, and evocative.

We had a couple of rogue pink ones in the corner of our plot last year . . . very delicate as you say, in look and feel.

Those are lovely, Kazz! For some reason I've never grown poppies, must get some next year!
