They do look as if they had a grand time. There are some good photo captures there Shelley - especially that last photo!

I know nothing about the origins of the Basenji - can you tell me a bit about the breed?

The last pic is of Malaika and another Puppy, both were born on New Years Eve.
Basenjis are an ancient breed that originated in Africa and Egypt Angie. The modern Basenji remains very similar to the original Dogs, they are called a pariah breed.
They are the smallest hound and are used for hunting in Africa.
Basenjis are quite cat like in behaviour, they like to be clean and wash their faces like cats, they're also independantly minded and will only do something for you if there is something in it for them.
The breed is just two splits from a Wolf, they don't bark and have two pads joined on each foot like a wolf.

What lovely lovely pictures. May I ask do Basenji owners have a jamboree type of event a lot of the smaller breed clubs do I know. My friend has a Petite Griffon GV (can't spell it) they have a lovely yearly meet.

Smashing action pictures there. Glad they all enjoyed it.

Thanks for the info Shelley - seeing your photo of them running together sort of made me think of African wild dogs. Not too far from the truth then.

I don't think that any of the clubs hold Jamborees, as far as i know it's just shows.
Can you tell me what happens at these jamborees and i could suggest it.
Thanks everyone for your interest, she's our little star.
Must do some posting on Tom and Jerry soon, they're getting jealous ;), although they did enjoy the break from Malaika whilst we were away.
