You can't really see how thin she is, she is skeletal, but bright and has eaten overnight and this morning. She has been out of her cage and had a wee wander and a cuddle. She is in a cage because she is still very unsteady and we want her to conserve energy until she is a bit stronger.

Pudding looks to be a lovely girl, albeit a skinny one. I do hope that she settles in and starts feeling secure and has a warm comfortable tummy very soon.

Oh poor little one, she does look so thin and scruffy; I know she'll come on in leaps and bounds with your care.I'm so looking forward to an "after" pic down the road a bit!

Oh my! Bless her skinny, bedraggled wee socks :) She is lovely, but I bet she is stunning once she has plumped out a bit :)

Thanks for the compliment, but she is just a very loving cat- my sister said she was very affectionate for the short time she had her.
Its a shame, but it is horrible stroking her- she is so angular and her hair is all matted. She is so thin though I don't want to start grooming because it may be sore for her. She is eating, not ravenously but regularly, I guess her stomach is so small only a tiny amount will fill it. She likes the same recipe as Spice- tin of food blended with some cat milk so she can lap it up. I've never used the blender attachment on my food processor so much before, but as long as it works for them!:D

Farthing, you are doing a brilliant job and Pudding has found a wonderful home.
I bet she will turn out a real stunner with your TLC. :)

:D Thanks for the lovely photo, she is indeed thin but looks very relaxed and she has certainly landed on her four feet. As has been said, it will be lovely to see her after pics a bit farther down the line when she has plumped out! Jan x

She's one lucky little Cat to have found her way to you.
She does look so thin and to me her little face looks a bit strained (for want of a better word)
I bet she picks up realy soon and will be a beauty.

You are a star . . . and Pudding is just beautiful - and very lucky.

I have found that the strays/rescues which are given a 2nd chance are often the most grateful and affectionate of cats. I look forward very much to seeing pictures of her as she continues to gain strength and put on weight.

Thanks everybody, but I have to say we can't take much credit in saving Pudding. She has overall been a very lucky girl- my neice found her and took her home, my sister called the SSPCA and kept in touch to see how she went, the SSPCA officer kept her in her home for a week- after taking her to the vets- to give her a chance. We are really the last stop from a group of caring people. I just hope she makes it after all this, she certainly seems like she is destined to survive.

When you look at it like that, she should be called Faye! Let's hope that all the effort all your group of caring folks have put in pays off for her ...... she certainly has lived this long in order to have a good home and caring people.

Well, Pudding has certainly settled in, she meows everytime she sees you and when out of her cage likes to dot between Mike and myself on the sofa. She is very cute and seems to be a man's cat, she will sit and pat Mike with her paw when he isn't paying her any attention, she just tends to settle beside me. I swear she is also watching the telly, she sat on my legs for ages facing the screen, seemingly engrossed. She has been a house cat before and although weak likes to have a wee wander before settling down.
A good normal pooh today and no excessive weeing or drinking, eating slowly but surely- so a good start for her.:D

She looks to be a lovely cat. Glad she has settled. If she keeps on eating small and often then hopefully the weight will come on. Look forward to a pic in a few months time.

Well Pudding is hyperthyroid, which would indicate that she is probably over 10. Even though this may explain some of her thinness, she has put on some weight here so she has also not been getting enough food. We are starting her on 10mg of vidalta today and blood test again in 2 weeks- hopefully we should see a big improvement by then.
My biggest concern is how much damage has been done to her other organs, so I'll probably get her blood pressure checked and her kidney function checked again at the same time- that should cover everything- and after another 2 weeks we will get her FIV/Felv tested. So in a months time we will know exactly where we stand- and it will just be a case of stabilising her.

Poor poppet - she's in the best place with you and hopefully you can get her stabilised. Does she have any breathing problems?

At least now she will get the treatment she needs, probably the poor little thing would have died if she hadn't been found.
