We have had warmish sun last few days and the snow is slowly melting. I found these wee guys this morning bravely trying to flower. They've been buried under around 15" of snow for the last 10 days or so. So delicate looking but so strong to have survived.

What a splendid sight - a heart warming discovery in all that snow. Brave and strong and full of hope.

that is amazing... would have thought they would have frozen... aren't they gorgeous!!
What a wonderful sight! How great that they are dong their best to flower despite the cold and snow.
That just shows how they got their name I imagine just popping up above the snow.
Amazing isn't it...yet I imagine the snow actually kept them from freezing...

Actually I've read that the snow acts as an insulating blanket of a sort to protect them from the bitter cold, odd as it seems. Whatever, they're gorgeous.
