It's the most wonderful thing to watch, I love watching things being born, pups, kittens, chicks, new life is wonderful. :)

Not really, just like hatching them & keep what we want, give the cockerels away and sell any surplus. I'm trying to breed some different breeds to keep.

Aww, great photos! I love the 'hatching in progress' ones, amazing! We had chickens when I was younger, they really have their own personalities and habits :D

so cute, the nursery where i work have some, one had started to break out Monday si i gues when i go tomorrow there will be at least one chick. Think they have a Duck egg also.

What fab pics :D I may be after a couple of different birds come the summer Smudgley, my girls are getting abit past it now lol. So will give you a shout if that's ok to see what you have :)

Now that I have Jack some of my eggs will be fertile. I only need a small incubator or a broody (please don't tell OH I'm even thinking about this!) :lol:

Your chicks are lovely - what breeds are they.

Chicks at present are Marans, Orpingtons, light sussex.

Eggs cooking are Orpingtons, light sssex, copper blue marans, barnevelders, erm..... oh yeah silver sussex & brown sussex, think that's all of them. I'll get some better pictures next time, this last hatch was rubbish. Most of the chicks died before they hatched due to the poorly incubator. :(

Ooh Copper blue marans - they are gorgeous. Friend has black copper and is going to try for some blues next month. Can't wait to see pics the chicks are very cute.

I've only got 4 of those eggs, but will see what happens, they lay very dark eggs
