View Full Version : Orchid and Amaryllis
Both my orchid and amaryllis are in full bloom now which adds warmth and brightness indoors compared to looking at the cold white 'stuff' outside....:)

That's a new amaryllis called Flamingo, Eileen ........ last year's bulbs produced lots of leaf growth but unfortunately no buds :(
Looking forward to seeing yours in flower soon :)
Beautiful Mags, especially the orchid....

Wow - such lovely colours on the orchid.
Only one of my amarylis from last year has survived. It has put out a couple of leaves so I await results!!

Usually they put up the bud first then the leaves.... I hope it was Picotee that survived?

So do I - I forgot to label them when I put them out- I had put them all into flowerpots with drainage so they all looked the same.
No bud, but two healthy leaves. If I don't get a flower this year is it woth keeping until next?
I bought two more potted amaryllis that were reduced in Sainsbury's from £9.99 to £3 last week. One has buds about 6' tall and the other is showing buds about 2" tall. There wasn't a name on them but they are both red, I'm hoping they flower ok.

Good bargain! Look forward to the pics, it's so nice to have things flowering indoors when it's so cold and bleak outside.
Amaryllis grow beside the roads in Houston.....could not believe what I was seeing, and they were beautiful too...
