OF YOUR TREE?

It's always been a debate in work about the rights and wrongs of tree-top decoration. I've got a fairy which I thought was an angel until I looked closely and saw she had a wand! She's a bit Glinda the good fairy-ish.
My mum has a very old paper/cardboard angel that I can recall from my childhood, with a white paper, bellshaped skirt. Golden haired and very celestial.
I suppose a star would also be appropriate and seasonal, but are there any new innovations?

Up until this year we had a star, but it was a bit pantomine and brassy so this year I've got a more stylised, delicate star which is a bit flower-like . . . see here http://www.houseoffraser.co.uk/Linea+Renaissance+beaded+wire+tree+topper/121790433,default,pd.html?cgid=1102

My Mum has a glass 'finial' for the top of her tree which I have tried without success to replicate for our tree (all her decorations were bought in the 50s and have a super retro feel to them). There are loads of these finials available online in the USA but none that I've managed to find in the UK :(

An angel on the miniature tree on the hall table but a star on the tree in the living room. We also have a glass finial which we used to have on the tree-top when we lived in a tiny house and the tree was on a table but its diameter is too small to fit onto a 7 ft tree that we have nowadays.

We have a Fairy from when I was a little girl on top of the smaller tree in the conservatory and an Angel on top of the main tree in the frontroom, which we have had for a good few years now.
