I am currently house sitting and looking after a very sweet, old ginger lady cat, atleast she was very sweet and cuddly until last night.......
We were lying in bed having a cuddle when she bit me, didnt think too much about that as it happens from time to time but then the full on attack happened, she was clinging to my arm and biting me for all she was worth.
Eventually had to scruff her and pull her off my arm, as I did so, she then flew at my face, I quickly pulled the duvet over me until she got bored and left the room:lol:
She was my best mate again this morning, have no idea where that came from or why.:?

How scary and very odd - mind, Merlin was a bit like that - he'd be cuddly and purring one minute and then attack cat, but I knew he was "disturbed" and never took his gentle moments for granted.

Oh and appologies to Moli, You rang while I was under attack, I daren't risk sticking my arm out from under the duvet to answer the phone:lol:

Could you have inadvertently touched a sore spot, Elaine?

Oh she does look like a venerable old lady - do you know how old she is?

Elaine

She's aproximately 13 yrs old Angie and normally extremely cuddly, likes to be held and licks your face.:D

Not all that old then - but looks older. Still some of us age gracefully and others not ................ does she call at night?

Elaine

Sometimes yes she does. She has pretty bad arthritis in her hind legs. She was a rescue so age is only a guess really, dont think she had a very good start to life or so I'm told but with rescues you dont really know.

She's a bit of a scary looking old bird . . . hopefully that was a one-off attack . . . but the thought of you cowering under a duvet hiding from a teeny old cat does raise a smile :D

Honestly Yola, it must have been a right picture to see, I was killing myself laughing all the while but it was scarey too.

Are you sure it's not a ginger tom, Elaine? "She" looks very much like my late Sam! ;)

Nooo, Moli, all my ginger toms are lovely.
Candy, our ginger girl, is very sensitive over her back due to arthritis, and she is much better since we have dealt with her IBD. She still beats up the rest of the cats though

 I am sorry Elaine but you sound very matter of fact and cheerful about it ! I agree you do get in some scrapes but its not a boring life is it!! I hope the remainder of your house sitting goes less painfully....... !! Jan x
