You'll have to ask them to pose again in a while Jane! I can just make them out. The two on the left look stripy! Smudge's kits had stripes when young, but they faded after a while.
They are stripey. Black and ginger with a bit off white on them.

So sweet - lovely little darlings.
:-P Aaaah little darlings - I am definately getting way too broody tonight! Jan x
They have grown since i took the photo's. This is there pecking order cracker, peaches, chunkie and sprit. I have now discovered they have teeth.
Just got back from the vets with maisey and her babies. they are all fine. I got the sex of them right as well. She sprayed them with frontline as a precaution The black one is a boy and when she got the others out she said a girl before she checked. They are torties and nearly all torties are females something i didnt know. They all weigh around 1lb. I also got some panacure for them which i know is going to be fun. I can use it on the others but there wont be enough i know. I also picked up some more frontline combo for them. I know i will have to wait until she stops feeding them but the nurse said i might have to seperate them for a couple of days eventualy so her milk will dry up. Going to take them when they are 9wks for there injections.

Good to hear the little ones are doing well! More pics!!
I realy cant believe how much they have grown up. Havent weighed them for a wk they wont sit still. All the other cats never climbed at this age these do. They can leap of the settee. They dont realy sleep in there box but on luckys cat bed but thats only tiny. They were all asleep on the bed settee this afternoon with lucky washing them he is realy fasinated with them. They use the litter tray and two are curled up on a neck cushion fast asleep. There getting the eating thing more now but i still have to show them it. One is still not trying though she still likes her mum. Maisey isnt bothered by the other cats curling up next to them. She has starting to play with Lucky. Getting some batteries for my camera tomorrow so there will be plenty of pics.
Lucky has just decided that its playtime. I want my bed
Good to know thry are all coming on so well...Do not know how you cope Kado!!!One kitten bouncing on me all night is quite enough!!!
Got a feeling i am going to fall asleep and find all 11 on. Lucky is the one i though might be a bit jealous but he isnt he just wants to play with them. Apart from Gabby all the others are neutered males but they keep following them around and trying to nurse of them especially when they first have woken up. They like going through the computer desk and i had to move some wire's one started chewing them. They also love hanging on the settee covers. I was going to get a new set of covers for it but i dont think i will bother now. Its not that long till christmas and we are putting a tree up i wonder how long it will last., 1,2, or three minutes.
Thats going to be fun, make sure you have your camera ready....

Hard to believe it's been 5 weeks! Seems as if we were just waiting for them to be born. They sound like a real handful, and so much fun. Looking forward to the pics ....and I think I'd skip the tree this Xmas! :-D
Yep i think i will but the OH and the kids want one up. Last year it lasted till boxing day.
Hope you like

I need one of those. So want a newbie!!
They have there own characters already.
I realy cant believe how they have grown. All ready they have there own characters and there all very different. They sleep any where they want too. Chunkie and Cracker are asleep on a fleece jumper on the computer desk. Peaches is cuddling upto Gabby and Spirit is fast asleep on the settee. Chunkie is huge compared to the other 3. The 3 girls are all mummys girls and tries to feed of her still more for comfort now. Maisey well most of the time pushing them of on sitting on her belly to stop them feeding. Going to take them for there jabs in 2-3 wks and probaly take Maisey too to see when she can get speyed as she is calling mostly at night and its driving us mad.
They all eat kitten food now all together. They ate everything i put down

Oh they do sound so cute; glad Maisie is shutting down now!
I am so we can spey her she is calling quiet a lot now and she is realy vocal. I was trying to get the cats in tonight and she escaped but OH caught her within seconds. She she does need speying asap. Will speak too the vets on Monday to see what they say and then ask my neighbour too take us. At the moment we have the hirer car but that will have gone back before she is speyed

Woo hoo, glad OH caught her! Her hormones have kicked in and she must know that tom is hanging around! Nature is cruel, isn't it, making her want to have more kittens when these are just weaned. .
Its not just one its the dad, his brother a cat called oui oui and a big black and white one as well.
Maisey is poop is almost normal now. She is eating properly on her pouches. The babies are 8wks tomorrow which i can not believe at all. They are so clever as well. I keep my cat food in a cupboard near the sink and they know where it is. The scratch at it and sit and stare as well. Spirit is the worst and loves her food. She hasnt refused a meal in four days. Yippe they have all finaly got the hang of it now.

Glad to hear it. And the colitis issue? How exactly was that diagnosed and how is it being treated?
dandysmom
16-10-2009, 10:01 PM
Lol, once they learn to eat they never stop! And of course they know where the food lives ....and will pinch it if they have the chance!
Glad to hear Maisey's almost normal now.
The just said it was diet related which i think it is. She hasnt being allowed anything but whiska's adult since last sunday. She is a scavenger and will try to eat anything she can get hold of. I have also stopped her going in the kitchen at night. They gave her tablets first time but the second was an injection and just give her the adult food. When we eat we have too put her in a different room as she will just jump up and pinch of your plate which i dont like. I do think her problem with pinching food was the reason she was dumped
Elaine
16-10-2009, 10:28 PM
Ah, I see, well thats really NOT a diagnosis for colitis then.
I would suspect that her scavenging is perhaps a result of being dumped and not knowing when she will have another meal rather than a reason for actually being dumped.
My Bernie, also a rescue, is eternally gratefull for any food I feed him, not at all fussy and I put that down to him having to scavenge for food, he was very malnourished when he was picked up but a fine tubby chap now.;)
Not quiet sure but the vet said it was probaly was diet related colitas. She is starting too put on a bit of weight now as well. Sorry for given you a missleading information. So glad its started too settle down

Elaine, my Misty was the same; she'd been wandering about the neighborhood for some days as a small hungry kitten before I took her in, and she always remembered the days when there was no food! She wasn't picky, ate everything; her motto till she went to the Bridge was aways "If you see food, EAT IT"! She remembered the days, even after almost 20 years with me, that there had been a hungry time.

Bless that dear Misty;) I imagine Bernie will be exactly the same.

Sultan, who had been an only cat, had a habit of leaving some of his breakfast for elevenses. He soon got over that after Misty came! I don't think they ever get over being without food in their formative years. Give dear Bernie a chin tickle from me, and a respectful curtsy to the Diva!
Chancer too is the same, he always has a couple of mouthfulls when he comes in, I am sure its habit...........

Lovely kittens. Just out of interest have they been treated for external parasites? I know you have wormed them, but on the first pic, 3 out of 4 of them look like they are scratching & the dark tortie in one photo looks like she has some hair loss around her face.
They are really cute though! :)
They where treated with flontline spray when they where 4wks. Spirit has got very light patches around her eyes. They had just woken up when i took the photo and they always wash thereselfs when they wake up. Hopefully i will be able to use frontline combo on them by thursday. My neighbourss taking her choco lab to be spayed and i am going to ask to pick some up for me. I have 9 or 10 in but will need another packet of 6

Has Spirit not got balding along her face? Maybe it's just the photo then.
If they were done @ 4 weeks they shouldn't have anything else for at least 28 days. I don't know about F/L combo, never used the cat combo - only the dog one. Pinklizzy will know as she's a VN.
No she hasnt, She is realy unuasual looking in colour. Will try too get a better picture. She hasnt got much ginger but is mainly black and realy light patches around her eyes. She is got the most quiet voices ever but now she has found food and loves it.

Thanks Jane - they are really cute! Are you keeping them or finding homes??? I love peaches!
Keeping them. Certain neighbours say i have enough but i know if i couldnt look after with food, vet care and love i would rehome them but i can. These kittens will not be going out until they are speyed and neutered but even then it will be on there own terms. Just remembered i took them too the vets on the 16th of september. Cant take them for the injections for 2 wks at least only because the neighbour who will take me looks after his grandaughter over the school holidays.

They are as cute as they can be, love that Peaches! Thanks for sharing those.
Everybody loves peaches. I think there going to have to temperment of torti's as well the 3 girls are bonkers and alsways running around usualy with chunkie chasing them. When Chunkie wants to sit on my knee when i am on the pc he sits near me and meows till i pick him up. He is also a leg climber

Are you keeping all 4 of them Jane?
We decided to keep them all within them being a day old. We have discussed this at lengths and it is not a rash descion. We are always at home, never go on holiday if we do my son would look after them. Even if we did go away i always make sure my friend who i cat sit for is at home just in case there is an emergency even though my son would be there. At the moment they are all fast asleep together on the settee

eeeek - a leg climber! Pip was definitely one of those and I have the scars to prove it. Luckily, he has grown on from that phase, but now he tends to jump up at hands - on tables or in pockets. Just have to be aware if he's around. He's a bright one though and understands "No Pip". Hope your Chunkie soon learns not to climb legs!
Well today he found he can jump on chairs

Thanks for the updated pics, I was hoping we would get some soon.
They look well, such wee sweeties.
I will try to get my brother to get a better pic of spirit her photo doesnt do her justice. She has a very mottled coloured face and when i flash she does look bald.

They do grow out of leg climbing, thank goodness, but not out of back-jumping! Two of my boys were jumpers... hope none of yours are, Kado, or Pip either, Angie.
I think are the kittens are going to be jumpers. Two have been jumping between the two settees for a bout a wk now. I do try and stop them but they get back on and do it again. Guinness, Troy, Chester and somtimes kado jumps off the garage on to a bin they can also do it the other way
This is a better pic of Spirit. She now has discovered food and loves it.
