Smudge seemed to get a real telling off yesterday! She was lurking at the field margin as it has recently been ploughed so all critters have moved to the edge. (We have had a LOT of 'gifts' over the past few days). Smudgie goes into crouch and stare mode and starts on that well known bum wiggle when a small shape shoots out of a clump of grass, charges up to a suprised Smudge, appears to tell her off and darts back into the grass. Smudge sits down looking very startled when the shape reappears as if to say 'and another thing' before retreating. At that point we had reached her and scooped her up before she could get bitten on the nose by an indignant weasel!

Unfortunately it was first thing in the morning and I was staring out whilst glugging the first cup of coffee so I wasn't really awake enough to grab the camera! I also hope that not too many neighbours saw my PJs when I dashed out to rescue madam!
