We ahve put the celestial parrotlets into their new flight in one of the caravans.
We were a bit worried as we took in a newly fledged sparrow, who had been caught in some garden netting, and after a week in a cage, let him into the flight to allow him to build up some flight muscles. We found him dead 2 hours later and can only assume his heart had given out to the shock. I am sure you can understand how worried we are today. We have put the cage on a wee table, with the doors open, and left them to it. I have put a big ash branch in it, after peeling off all the bark. If they have now left the cage we will close them in it tonight, and try again tomorrow.
We are really excited about giving them the space, but worried after our wee sparrow passed away.:?

I think some wild birds do just die from shock. It is such a shame.

The set up sounds really good and I hope the parrots enjy it.

A shame about the little sparrow. Perhaps he was more injured than it appeared, but so sad to have lost him after your efforts. Hope the parrotlets do well in their flight cage.
