It's surprising what a difference a few showers of rain can make........

It's always a joy to see pics of your lovely garden and baskets! Gorgeous colors. I love the orange geraniums in the first shot; mine haven't bloomed yet (started them from seed a bit late); also the agapanthus. Mine hasn't shown a bud stalk yet ....???

Did your agapanthus flower last year Eileen? The buds on mine started appearing at the beginning of June...

Yes, lovely bloom last year, It has made a second bulb, perhaps it put all its energy in that rather than in flowering. A shame, as it's such a gorgeous blue. :(

I suppose there is still time, if not you can look forward to maybe an extra bloom next year...:D

Mine has not even got a flower stalk this year, yet it bloomed last year, maybe its because I did leave it in the garden during the winter, usually put it in the greenhouse...

My tubers are about 8 years old and had been growing in a container until last year when I split them and planted them directly into the ground. I did cover them in wood chips last winter though...

Think I will move mine into the garden, have a space where it could grow as big as it wants to, probably be happier there...

Supposedly it will overwinter here, but I left my first one outside and it didn't make it. So this one spent the Winter indoors. It looks healthy, maybe it might send up a bud shoot later....

The agapanthus likes to be slightly potbound so I wonder if yours would do better in a smaller sized pot?

Some tips (http://www.gardenersworld.com/plants/pots-containers/agapanthus/) ...

Thanks for the link. I did remember it likes to be pot-bound so it's not in a very large pot, and of course there are now two bulbs in it. I checked my pics from last year but they don't show the pot size, just the bloom. Apparently they're like amaryllis ...the more pot-bound the better ....I have amaryllis still in their original pots that are over seven years old. Are your amaryllis outside ow?

That's the official theory; let it go dormant and start watering around the holidays. I never have, I keep them green and growing all Summer outside. Works for me. Picotee usually reblooms outside too as you may recall.
