I've heard today from Roger and Barrie's owner that Roger hasn't been himself all week :(

He's not been eating very well and generally hasn't been himself :( She's taking him to the vets this week about it so hopefully he'll be ok. I'll tell you all when I find out more (I'll let her come to me with the ins and outs, I'll ask her how he is and what's wrong with him but I won't press for information if she doesn't want to talk about it, I get the feeling she may lose Roger soon and Barrie won't be far off because when Roger goes Barrie will probably lose the will to live :(

I heard today that Roger's got kidney trouble as well as his arthritis and constipation. The vet's taken blood samples and put Roger on a prescription diet (same on as Beauty was on when she was alive) but whether Roger will eat it is anybody's guess :(

He's very wobbly on his back legs as well :( keeps losing his balance :(

Hello RCR! My Feline Tribe are thinking of you and yours! Good Luck!!:smt023

Can I also refer you to me comments I made in Balerios weight thread as follows -
Glad to hear he's picking up... chicken is always the winner in my house however I also boil rice in stock cubes & mix that in with chopped chicken or boiled fish .... Bear if feeling poorly insists on cheese, preferably soft goats cheese which I have to dunk me finger in then let him lick it off, on demand of course!

But a good stand by we use at the rescue is a good quality of kitten food, either wet or dry, which ever takes their fancy... I prefer Hills or Royal Canin.... never failed yet!!! And believe me some of the size zero cats that have been through our doors...

Also if you do find the A/b's aren't enough and they discover something amiss (fingers crossed not!) check out the types of food you can give to help them... follow this link to a website we use, and create an account (so long as you follow this link each time you will donate 1% of your total bill to our rescue centre too!! )

Check out the different types of food from Hills, Royal Canin etc..... hope it helps!!

All the best!

As far as we know he's still eating a little, his brother Barrie nicks Roger's food though.

I'll pass the link on, thanks MCL

Sorry to here about Roger.
Has his thyroid been tested as well, hyperthyroid can affect kidney function and causes weight loss.

Sorry to hear about Roger ..... it doesn't sound too good, but he may improve if his brother can be kept out of the way so that Roger can eat something. Healing vibes for him.

I've just got back from Roger and Barrie's owner.

Roger is back at the vets again, the vet wants to keep him in overnight and try him with steroids, but if that fails the owner could be looking at euthanasia :(

Edit: The vet said he's wobbly on his back legs out of sher weakness due to not eating :(

She's very upset angieh, today she's concentrating on Barrie because at the moment she can't do anything for Roger :(

Another update:

Roger's back, but both Roger and Barrie will need to go to the vets on Monday (Barrie because he's getting fat, Roger so the vet can see if the treatment's worked).

Roger has eaten and drunk a little bit :-D but not much :(

I don't know any more yet, will have to wait until Monday.

New update: Roger's no different from the weekend so it's a case of waiting until he starts to show signs of discomfort or pain, Barrie it's even worse news - he's got cancer in his liver or spleen  again it's a matter of time before he leaves this world :(
