Did you know that more men suffer from prostate cancer than women do from breast cancer? It's very much a Cinderella subject.
The Prostate Cancer charity has made a big effort to obtain free advertising on London buses in a current on-line competition.
There's 3 days left in the voting. Maybe Catsey members would like to vote, once a day, to try to push it to the top of the chart (it's been creeping up every day this month)
Here's a post on the subject (with the voting link) I've lifted from another site; I hope that's OK

The Prostate Cancer Charity has been entered into London's biggest creative challenge to win free advertising on London's buses.

Please visit the website to view the 'Sorry, must dash' advert vote please (http://www.prostate-cancer.org.uk/news/features/features.asp) and to find out how you can vote for the entry in the competition.

Voting closes on the 15th June.

My husband was diagnosed with prostate cancer last year:( apart from the dreadful shock of being told that he had cancer there was also the stigma of having an illness that no one want,s to mention:?
Luckily he had surgery which removed the tumour and so far he has been clear:D
So it,s a very worthwhile cause to support:D
I am alway,s surprised that so many men ignore their symtems:( as my O/H did until it became acute) sure that women take their health more seriously:roll:
Why is there not a screening programe like we have for breast cancer:?

I've voted. A friend of my hubbys died of this 3 years ago at the age of 25. After being repeatedly told he DIDN'T have it, mainly because he was too young!! :(

Thanks everyone.
Whether due to Catsey input or not I don't know, but the campaign is now equal first! Well done.
Please vote again today and tomorrow - right up to the closing date - and if you have access to more than one internet account vote on that too. Every little helps.

Men and their health! I hope the prostate campaign might be one that moves to a high profile soon, with men being as 'accepting' of the indignity of a potential finger where the sun don't shine as we are of squashed boobs at the mammogram clinic. It's a very small price to pay for some reassurance or the possibility if early diagnosis and treatment.

Vote early - Vote often!

I've voted again. Got a bit confused with the drop down box. I think I'm a "consumer" - is that right?

dinahsmum

Yes - I think it's mostly aimed at the advertising industry so we would be (willing or unwilling) consumers of adverts.
It's great that it's hit equal first - vote early, vote often!

Voting continues until the end of June (the 15th as originally stated in the blurb was incorrect! Naughty Prostate Cancer Charity!) Please vote again (and again)
It's in the lead by several % but every little helps

The Prostate Campaign won the 'Wild Card' section and is now in a national vote against all the other 'professional' winners.
Here's the link to allow you to vote again (daily please!) for the next two weeks. It's currently in joint lead, so a bit more effort is needed

thanks for the Link DM.. ive voted as well and will continue to do so...
an interesting fact for you in realtion to prostate cancer....
Statistics from autopsies show that 30% of men in their 70s, 40% in their 80s and 50% in their 90s had prostate cancer. the vast majority of these died from somehting other than prostate cancer

As a police officer attached to the homicide squad i have attended a few hundred autopsies over the years... i would have to say that probably most of the men over 45 had enlarged prostates and/or evidence of early stage prostate problems

Buggar-I think I was too late. My Uncle died with prostate cancer but then again he was 80 and other things contributed to his death.

It`s sometimes when the C word hits home that we actually do something
