Just took this this afternoon...this is Variegata di Bologna, a Bourbon rose. It's quite early this year, considering the cool Spring. And it's fragrant!

What an unusual rose DM. I could almost smell it just from the pic if you know what I mean.

Thanks. I love the old roses; they're not fussy like the modern hybrid teas, I guess you'd say not high maintenance...and beautiful in their own way, to have lasted so well and are still in commerce. I have more ...pics will come as they bloom!

That is very beautiful Eileen! I will have a surprise when mine come as I cannot for the life of me remember which one of them has survived and which has not!

That is such a lovely rose DM, I just love the colour it reminds me of Raspberry Ripple ice cream;)

i actually realise what it DOES remind me of.....i had a camellia bush with a flower that was almost identical in colour..before it stopped flowering... it died back quite a lot and didn't flower last year... but hasn't actually died... and no amount of camellia food has made it produce flowers
