Who is it your actually seeing? I was always under the impression that Reiki was all about peoples/animals energies, its energy healing, I would be a little bit sceptical of this woman, I wouldnt think that Reiki could be performed over a photo.

Elaine went down the reiki route with her Eva, who also wasnt very good with strangers, he gave Elaine the first session free to see of she would take to it. You can read more about it here -

Hi Niki, I was very sceptical of the whole reiki thing with Eva but was very impressed with the results, which reminds me that I must find the time to give Bob a call and get him to do a top up session with her.
I am not so sure about healing via a photo though as I would have thought that the energy would have to be applied directly but I am no expert so maybe I'm wrong.
I have also previously had a free consult with an animal communicator. I emailed her some photos of the cats and she emailed me her "communication" with them. She got a few things right but that could have been a lucky guess or a little trickery, but other bigger things she was saying were totally incorrect.
I havent been on over the last week, so not really clued up about whats happening with your kitty but will have a snoop now.
I do completely reccomend the reiki, just a little unsure about the picture reiki thing.

Is the reiki to help you get her into a harness? Sorry, I couldnt find anything else with regards to stress issues or anything.

na not just the harness, that would be silly  i guess she's a bit like KOKO. i cant lift her up without her hiding,i cant put flea stuff on her as she freaks with the smell.

i generally want her to be a bit more relaxed around me and other people, she didnt have the same socialising my other cat had when he was her age,i used to have people around alot and young kids, but now the kids have grown up,all 3 of my animals r one person animals

Thats what I was begining to think:lol:
My Eva swears like a trooper when you pick her up and you should hear her at the vets:shock:
Bob, the guy who did the reiki for her also used to make up blends of Bach flower remedies for her to help restore calmness. Some one else on here mentioned that they knew a Reiki person and they used crystals as well as the reiki. Seems they all do something alongside to compliment the reiki.
Bernie and i used to fall asleep on the sofa, we used to joke that we got more from the sessions than Eva did.

quote from e-mail i got elaine :

well, I don't actually need the photo, I just really need the cats name and the location. I ask for a pic because it gives me something to focus on.

hmmmm i hope it works niki but i have to say the whole "absent cat" session thing sounds a bit fishy to me... .. I know Reiki works.. i had treatments when i was having chemo a number of years ago... dont have any experience with it used on cats... but the principals are the same.....

Hi,
I trained about 7 years ago for Reiki 1 and Reiki 2. The photo part is about absent healing - the principle that you focus the positive energies on that person or animal or even a pot plant (not joking) and they receive the healing energies via the airwaves, so to speak. I do believe that this works but also feel that you surely need to "know" the recipient of these healing energies and at least have had some contact initially. It just seems a rather lazy way to me that there has not been this initial contact - mind you I am also not saying that it could not work but this is just my point of view. I personally would be finding someone who would come out and see you and find out more about your puss `s personality and problems in the first instance and then take it from there even if that then included absent healing between sessions. quote from e-mail : the other thing is that if your animal is so nervous, distance reiiki would be the only way to do it. I doubt if she would sit with me long enough to do it

Thats why Bobs first appointment was free, so that he could assess whether or not she would be a suitable candidate for reiki, i.e. would she take the reiki and would she sit long enough with him to give her the reiki. As it turned out she wouldnt sit for more than 20 minutes, sometimes a little more and sometimes less. Therefore he charged me a lesser rate but I personally feel that it was worth it.

Hi Niki, just thought you might be interested to know that my reiki practitioner also offers distance healing, so maybe there is something in it after all, still feel a little scepticle of that route but here is the link to his web page so you can see what he says about it.
