Just a few pictures of the garden today :) we have decided to extend rather than move (at the present time) so the good news is that I can keep all of my plants :-D

Ah what I would give for a garden big enough to have grass....the fence looks really good blending in well.Your bleeding heart is going well I think this year will be the year for them, like the Peonies....what colour is your tree peonie? You also have a secret weapon of cats in the garden...both looking well too. :)

What a lovely garden Emma - Bronwyn and Arthur look very happy to be there in the sunshine. Wish my edges looked that neat!

Thanks everybody,

Yes Mags it does look so much larger with the tree gone, also it lets a lot more light into the kitchen.

Karen the tree peony is white (I think :) the other peonies are pink (Sarah Bernhart) and I think the other is either white or red!! lol The bleeding heart has done so well this year and I only planted it last year, might try and get some cuttings from it.

Angie the edges are not too bad, tidied them up last week and OH cut the grass on Friday, our intentions are to have a row of bricks (sunk into the lawn) to neaten them up. This will be done once we have finished our extension and returfed the garden.

Thanks Moli, it looks better this year than last, hopefully this year I will plant a few more shrubs and flowers. I also need to plant up my veg patch which I cleared last weekend.

It looks beautiful Emma, oh to have such lovely grass..... (our dogs have destroyed our lawn) The bleeding heart is looking great, I love those and used to have one, probably dug up by one of the dogs  I love your fence too. Your cats look very happy in their lovely garden.

Thanks Kim.

Bronwyn likes going out in the garden but only really if we are out as well, most of the time she stays indoors (odd girl lol :) )

What a lovely garden! I too envy you your grass as my small north-facing back garden would never support it and is better off paved. It's maturing very nicely there Emma!

How are you going to extend . . . I presume out rather than up?

Hi Yola, we are planning a large extension at the back, firstly removing the kitchen that ends out and bringing the whole of the bungalow back, moving and rebuilding a larger garage and doing a loft conversion :-) which might involve us making the pitch of the roof higher. Architect is drawing up some initial sketches for us.

This photo shows how the kitchen sticks out from the rest of the property, this will be removed and replaced with a similar one but much deeper and hopefully nearly as wide as the bungalow, we will then have a large kitchen/dining room and large living room and hopefully 4/5 bedrooms

Flipping heck woman 4-5 beds what are you planning a bed and brekkie....:)

You should talk to Smudgley they had an extension done on their bungalow last year (maybe the year before time is flying by)

But it sounds good though are you planning a conservatory or skylights......

I have enjoyed looking at your garden. The cats are beautiful. It is good that you are staying, I'd hate to leave somewhere as nice as that.

LOL me and the OH were thinking 3/4 beds, but the architect said "what would you like 4/5 beds, so we said ok" LOL but that really does depend as we would like them to be good sized rooms. We have two beds at the moment, living room, dining room, kitchen and bathroom so by extending upstairs and extending the back it should be viable. At the back we are hoping to put some sort of dorma windows in the roof, unlikely we will be allowed them at the front but we can have skylights if we want. Yes we will also be having some sort of conservatory/sun room :) (which I am sure the cats will be in most of the time!! )

Thanks Eileen, I really need to put some more effort into the garden, it looks ok but it could look a lot better :)
