I'm not sure if anyone else would find this exciting but I thought I'd post just in case anyone else would like to watch.
The link I'm about to provide is from someone who is a ferret breeder in Devon, England. She has bred one of her ferrets, Bella, who is due any day now to have kits. The link is the cam setup to the nesting box. I think I'll be checking in on her the next couple days, her official due date is the 24th but who knows if the kits will come earlier or later. Anyway, here's the link if you're interested. She's sleeping a lot now..it's tiring growing babies in your belly:lol:

Cool! A bit earlier today she was lying on her back and you could see her belly moving, it was pretty neat! :-)

Darling is asleep atm. For a moment I thought she'd stopped breathing, but she started up again, thank goodness.

hmmm i'd say average is eight? i've heard of it getting up to twelve before though...it can really vary.

hehe we can take shifts. i'll keep it up on my comp till bedtime for me in the states and then everyone else on the other side of the pond can watch on their end till their bedtime:lol: (i'm about eight hours behind most of the people on this forum)
Looks like she's buried under her bedding fast asleep ......preserving her energy for the impending birth no doubt :D

I've just seen a couple of really good close ups of her pretty little face. Wondered whether she knew she was being watched, she started burying herself under her bedding .......

she is so sweet - I could watch her sleeping for ages. Love how her whiskers twitch and her lovely wee toes.
i love her pink little nose :-)
She was jumping in and out of the hole earlier today while her mom was tidying up her bed..:D
Aww her mum just took her out to weigh her..she's gained 9.5 oz in the last week!:shock:
(her total weight now is 2 lb, 7.5 oz.)

Oh bless her :) she's flat on her back arms outstretched. Come on kitties, mamma is a long time a-waiting!
FYI, there is another ferret next door to this wee one that we can't see. Her name is Ivy and she just had five babies (she was bred on the same day as Bella). Reason we can't see Ivy and the babies is because the camera seems to peaks Ivy's attention whereas Bella just seems to ignore it for the most part..so the camera is only on Bella. But if you hear little squeaky noises, it's Ivy's babies next door to her so not to worry :-)

Today is going to be an exciting day, hope Bella's babies arrive on time...:D
She is getting really restless. It's 2:30am here..I think I'll go to bed soon but leave the cam and volume up so if I hear a commotion I'll hopefully wake up to see the birth. I think the breeder is gonna record it for people who miss it but I'm not sure. Gah! To go to bed or not go to bed? What to do, what to do....LOL.

I was surprised to see her 'mom' comforting her through the birth like that, it was very moving.
The second one has just arrived!:D
It was so touching to watch her human mom talking her through the contractions, kinda got me teary eyed.
Aww she is trying to get her human mother into the box with her. Amazing.

What a noise those little'uns make! 12 babies in total. Precious. I'm sad I missed the births, but glad to know all has gone well.
She is certainly keeping them clean, thank you Tink for posting this, never seen anything like it...Lovely to watch her...
The babies appear to have grown in size already!! :D

"Bella (Sandy) and Ivy (Poley) Safely delivered 16 kits about a week or so ago...
after being seperated for 2 weeks prior and another week after the kits Bella who has never lived alone in her life started acting a bit lifeless... and was becoming exhausted coping with 11 kits too boot...
Her friend Ivy was so laid back with her 5.. that she didn't even want to use the nice nest box we built her but liked the fleece filled washing up tub out in the middle of the cage instead... so we watched very carefully and thought we might offer Bella a little help...
The results were miraculous... Bella is no longer exhausted and is behaving immensly grateful for her friends company once more... so we have 16 kits and 2 mums... happy and healthy and thriving!"

How sweet that the two mums are looking after the kits together ....... I wonder if they can tell which kit belongs to which mum?:?
What a lovely story, so pleased Bella is helping out....

OMG, just checked the live webcam and both mamas are there being so peaceful with all the kits. :-)

So many babies!
Update: They lost their internet so it is not live feed anymore and it is just replaying old videos while things get sorted. Hopefully they'll be up and running soon as the babies are supposed to leave on the 28th for their new homes.
BUT...i did think that this particular video uploaded from 7 days ago was quite adorable...look at the baby on the plate!!
