For the last few weeks I have been watching tha harbour porpous (spelling) in the mouth of the harbour while walking a few dogs along the coastline. Today I saw a pod of dolphins playing aswell:D Got a clip of one on my mobile, the quality isnt very good and will try to get some more if I see them again. Sadly I missed some pretty good displays from them while fumbling around, trying to get all dogs to stay still with me and get my phone out of my pocket.

There looks as if there were lots of them Elaine - at least I imagined there were lots! I envy you seeing dolphins and porpoises too.

There were around 6 dolphins, I think and several porpouses. The rain was chucking it down and i didnt have my raincoat but didnt care at that point:lol: It was a thrilling sight.

With the harbour porpoise (thanx for spelling it correctly Eileen:lol: ), you only really see their humps as they come up to the surface but the dolphins were jumping right out of the water. It was fantastic to watch even in the pouring rain.

Oh that is something I so miss! We used to go park up at the battery and walk round the coastline and also the harbour. We spent many hours watching those beautiful creatures. Thank you very much for posting that Elaine, brought back some happy memories!

Elaine I do envy you such a lovely walk that takes in sea wildlife. One of the things I would really like to see is Whale in the wild.

Have the same dogs tomorrow, so if I get a chance and if they are around still, I'll try to get some better shots of them.
I have to admit that we are a little spoilt for choice up with respect to walks, coastline, beeches, woods and hills.

How breathtaking. I would (almost) kill to see dolphins - and to swim with them would be a dream come true.

You are very lucky to have that kind of 'real' nature right on your doorstep . . . does sound cold and windy though

Lovely Elaine. When we were in Oban 2 years ago we were lucky enough to have them follow our boat for a while and they were coming right out of the water. I'd love to see them again.

There is something magical about dolphins don't you think.

Lucky you Elaine.
I can't even remember the last time I went along the coast, never mind seen dolphins. I've only seen them a couple of times way offshore.
