Abi was pts a few minutes ago as her condition had deteriorated. Such a terrible shame for such a young kitty to go like this.

R.I.P. Sweetpea, breathe easy now xxx

She is Gone

You can shed tears that she is gone, Or you can smile because she lived.

You can close your eyes and pray that she will come back,
Or you can open your eyes and see all that she has left.

Your heart can be empty because you can't see her,
Or you can be full of the love that you shared.

You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday,
Or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.

You can remember her and only that she is gone,
Or you can cherish her memory and let it live on.

You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back,
Or you can do what she would want: smile, open your eyes, love and go on.

Thankyou all, I am going to see Emma later and will pass on all your sympathies.
I know she is very upset, confused and beating herself up about it.

Emma shouldn't blame herself; they are so very good at disguising the symptoms until it's too late. Please give her my condolences.

Thanx Eileen and I know what you mean but I think we all do blame ourselves in these instances, whether there is blame to be had or not.
It's just so sad when they go so young.

Of course we blame ourselves, can't be helped, it's human nature. As I said in the other thread, after reading the symptoms I realized after all these years that's what Su-ling had, and I didn't know about it at the time; it's given me a bit of peace finally knowing....and yes, I feel guilty now, although I shouldn't ..... poor Emma.

Hugs to you Eileen xxx
These things are never easy, young or old but atleast when they are old you can be comforted by the fact that they have had a long, happy, healthy life. Snatched so young just seems so unfair.

Oh my goodness  How tragic. Emma must be distraught as must her son.

Is this the cat Jac has originally but couldn't keep? If so - has someone told Jac . . .

Just been on the phone to Emma, she is finding it difficult to accept that Abi has gone. On the other hand children being children and living in the moment said to his nan that Abi was now in heaven and we can see her when we look at the stars, his next sentence was, but Peery (thats what he calls me) might bring us another pretty cat if we ask her. Jim, Emma's partner, is also very emotional over the loss of Abi.
Caspurr is fine but is aware that his little friend isnt around for him to chase.
I havent contacted Jac as I dont have her contact number, so if any one else does, could they let her know the sad news.

Please pass on my best wishes to Emma and tell her she is in my thoughts at this very sad time.
I have tried to contact Jac to tell her the news also but i dont have a valid number for her.
I've also been trying to contact Abi's breeder to let her know whats happened but cant get hold of her either :(

Oh I forgot that Abi was originally Jacs! I think the only person who may have a contact number for Jac would be Moli.

Chink chink, as pennies drop
Was this the little baby that was quite ill when she was little, or was that the other one?
Sorry - memory failure!

yola
16-03-2009, 11:39 AM
Ah - yes DM. One of Jacs little ones was very unwell as a kitten; I can't remembe which though. If it was poor Abi then that explains a lot :(

alexgirl73
16-03-2009, 01:40 PM
no, Caspurr was the one who was ill when little.

Elaine
16-03-2009, 01:51 PM
As Alex said, Caspurr was the poorly kitten who reacted badly to the inoculations. Abi as far as we were aware was always healthy. No murmer or anything was detected when she was spayed around 7 months ago. The condition, sadly, is just one of those things and very often there is no explanation as to why it happens from what i can gather.
