After some fish talk on the forum I thought I would share some photos of my fish over the years.

Angle fish - fish shop owner bought them off me :-)

Thats strange I get the same thing using a different browser, might be because they are on picasa site. I'll fix it now.

I'll have to upload them to a different server, picasa doesn't seem to like me linking to images in my album.

That's a stunning Angel fish! I love them; used to have one in a mixed tank; he grew quite large and bullied the other fish terribly. Apparently he committed suicide, I came home from work one night and he was lying on the floor quite dead!

Yeah when they get big they get very bullish.

Few more photos.

Also going strong in my Amazon tank, not from the Amazon tho hehe

Neolamprologus multifasciatus is a tiny shell-dwelling cichlid native to Lake Tanganyika

I have been breeding them for years now, I have a good colony of about 40 strong. Once had more but sold a few :-) Very cool fish, recommended for small tanks.

Thanks for posting those; lovely and interesting assortment of pics. Never saw that catfish before; sort of ugly but different! We had blue gouramis when I was a child, really liked them.

Great pics Matt. I had a marine tank about 25 years ago. Loved it but it was just too hard to maintain as at that time I was away from home a lot.

Now I have goldfish, white cloud minnows and couple of algae eaters.

Keep them at 80 degrees and have thought about making it more of a community tank. Don't know what to get though.

Your catfish is amazing - how big is it? What else have you in the 'amazon' tank?

Thanks glad you like the pics, yeah that plec is fairly rare , don't see many like this in local fish shops. I've not kept gouramis.

You might get away with adding a small plec, have to be careful tho when you purchase one as most of them grow massive. My plec is only about 3" in size and this is full size.
I've seen plecs over a foot in length.

Currently I have a 100l Amazon tank with ,

Not a recent pic

1 plec
8 corydoras
4 dwarf corydoras
12 Rummy nose tetras
3 Ottos
6 - 8 shrimp
1 fan shrimp
2 yoyo loachs

think thats about it

In my Lake Tanganyika tank I have ,

again not a recent pic, no cyps in this tank.

http://www.debougegallery.co.uk/Images/fish/multiejan2006nest.jpg

40 Muties - 3 - 4 breeding pairs

the multies breed in little shells, and look after their own young.

15 Cyprichromis - 1 breeding pair.

The cyps are mouth brooding fish, the female looks after the young in their mouth till its time to give birth.

:)

Love the pics:D , they are really clear and colourful.

Thanks Leesy , I do enjoy the fish photography.

My friend had a cat fish which was a good age, that died last year.

They are great pics. Rams are well cute!

P.s Matt do you know anything about Neon Tetras, since I was little I have always wanted them? Are they easy to look after? I was on a fish site a few years ago and they said, Tropical fish are harder to care for?

Neon tetra can be fussy. They have been over breed over the years. Quality has gone down hill. They even have their own disease "neon tetra disease" I would stay clear.
Tho its up to you. If you can get a nice tank setup with mature filter and have a shoal of 20 to 30 that would look very good. I would look at Rummy nose tetras as an alternative, they shoal tighter and are better quality.

Just a general question for those in the know - can you keep seahorses in a tank and if so what sort (I have a thing about seahorses!)

Hi Angie

Seahorses are very hard to keep, marines full stop are difficult and very expensive. If I had money to burn I would give it a try ;-)
For sea horses you need a species only tank. I've have heard of fish keepers breeding sea horses before that would be rewarding. Have you got a tank already?
