Stuck on question in my course

I am stuck on this question in my course, can anyone offer any advise as to how I can bulk the answer out?? I have picked a Persian and a Burmese, but I don't really know a lot about pedigree cats, so if you own one, what behaviour traits do they exhibit??

Examine routine care for cats

The cat - commonality as a pet and it's related/specialist behaviour needs. Assess how one breed may differ (in routine behaviour) compared with another when in the home. word guide minimum 500.

Persians are on the whole docile and rather lazy - certainly in my house! However I'd stop short of saying this was a breed characteristic. They are probably marginally less curious than other cats and display a laid back approach to most things. Mine prefer their own company (apart from one who thinks he is a puppy and follows me everywhere). They are patient cats which is just as well as they have to sit still whilst being cleaned and groomed.

I haven't owned a Burmese but OH had several previously. They are vocal, love high places, are into everything and are incredibly friendly and intelligent.

These are generalisations on the whole but I hope they help to some extent. Good luck!

I have never owned a Burmese, but used to care for a friend's cat whenever she went away. This particular Burmese was (as Yola says) very friendly and a complete dream to handle - never attempted to bite or scratch and always took his pills (such as wormers) with no trouble at all. In fact, I would have adopted him if I hadn't had two cats of my own at home at the time.

Not much to go on as only relates to one cat, sorry!

Do you have to stick to those 2 breeds? If it were me i'd choose 2 very different/opposite type breeds, a lazy one and and an active one maybe?

I've never had or knew a Burmese. Siamese are active, very vocal and very intelligent; need a lot of interaction with their people.

Since I got married in 1960 I have had 2 Siamese cats and two Burmese cats, now have a Burmese x rescue cat.

All of them were adorable and loving - Siamese are much more talkative but can be destructive (love scratching things - both also liked eating wool if they got the chance).

Burmese are less talkative but very friendly but I did have a big problem in that they both had problems with their teeth (they were brother and sister) and over the years it cost a lot for them to keep having teeth out. By the time my last Burmese died at nearly 18 he only had four canines left.

The two Siamese I had (at different times) were very healthy. However I decided not to have more Siamese when the breeders started to change their shape, making them thinner with pointed faces and larger ears, which I did not like.

My Mum had two Burmese. One was extremely friendly and laid back. Loved everyone. The other was alittle reserved with strangers but in her own surroundings absolutely adorable.

They were both clever, intelligent and inquisitive cats.
