Does anyone clicker train their cats? We are thinking of starting to clicker train Dylan and I'd like to know how to clicker train them.

I have never heard of this being done with cats RCR, only dogs. I'd be interested to know how you get on.

I've done some with Imogen, just basic things like she'll touch a target stick with her nose on command but I'm hoping to be able to build it up. The main thing, just like with any other animals is to get the timing correct. Also using small enough treat rewards as I found if I gave Imogen to much she became too distracted with eating the treat and lost concentration ;) We only do short sesions too, about 10-15 min at the most.
Hope that helps.
ETA- there are a few websites and books available on clicker training cats which cover things like establishing the associations with the clicker.

Don't worry, I'll tell you how I get on! :-D

There's a book in the college library I'm going to get out as soon as it's available about clicker training cats.

I used to do a bit with Eva. She was very quick on the uptake but the whole thing fell by the wayside. Keep meaning to get back into it with her but never quite get there.

I've tried teaching Dylan "sit" using a treat the other night, Dylan didn't seem to understand what I was requesting he did though, so clicker training might be better for him I think.

I've never tried it; will be interesting to hear how it goes.
