My son has a rescue kitten, it was found not far from where we live, and they phoned the CP and they in turn asked Rob if he would foster it till I came home on Thursday, they have named it Marmaduke, its seemingly a tabby....So I have a kitten to go home to now...:)

Oh how nice, Moli! But I'll always associate that name with a cartoon Great Dane strip that used to run here.

Moli

Do you ever use live traps for the adults?

My local CP gave me a loan of one many moons ago to catch the two feral kittens (shadow and munchkin) that took up residence in our coal shed.

It worked quite well although I did catch a crow the first time I set it.

They do have traps, maybe get one when I go back, if that is mum cat she wil need to be spayed...

That was why I wanted to catch the two feral girls that adopted us. We also looked after their dad - he didn't need a trap, think he was an ex domestic, lost or dumped.

They are quite easy to work. If she's living out and been feeding babies she'll be hungry.

Best of luck.

We have 2 dark Tabbys, one girl and one boy, the litle girl has cat flu, had her up the vets and she is now on AB's..It looks like someone has dumped them as they are so people friendly,,, underweight, but eating well.....
There is another one living under a shed, but so far my son has not managed to catch him, getting a trap and going to try and get him that way...

Now there are 3, caught the other one today, luckily without a trap, its bigger than the other two, but the image of them, he is very frightened, and has so far eaten a dish of food and is now sleeping in Robs wardrobe with the door open, so getting used to the sights and sounds, he will soon come round..

Elaine
16-01-2009, 06:45 PM

Update on kittens......
Daisy, my son has named them as he was the one who caught them.....Daisy, the little girl with the flu is much better, she is bombing up and down the hall playing, has been since 8am....full of life....Duke was snuggled into me till I opened my eyes, then thought food, no sign of no name(we do not know if its a boy or a girl yet) but as soon as I put food down he/she appeared, ate the lot while keeping an eye on me...Now sleeping in a cat bed where he can see us all.....He will let you cuddle him, but as son as something happens, noises and the like he is off.......All in all they a thriving...Duke is still very small though, but perfectly healthy.....
