Got them Saturday, am quite pleased with them. As I said in the Daily I haven't been able to check how dark they will change to in sunlight, as the sun promptly disappeared while I was in the opticians and hasn't been seen since!

The sun finally made a brief appearance on the way to the market (has since vanished again!) and the transition lenses did darken nicely. Not quite as dark as regular sunglasses, but quite satisfactory. Glad I decided to get that option.

HK, those are the glasses Sarah Palin was wearing on TV during the campaign. I just fell in love with the style, and as I needed new glasses, went for them. The optician said they were extremely popular, selling well!

It was nice and sunny this morning, so took a pic of them while waiting for the bus. See how they darken in the sun? Glad I decided to opt for the transition lenses!

I wish I were a bit more scientifically inclined; cannot imagine how they do that! Darken in the sunlight and revert to clear when you're out of it. The miracles of modern technology....

I wish I were a bit more scientifically inclined; cannot imagine how they do that! Darken in the sunlight and revert to clear when you're out of it. The miracles of modern technology....

Hold the camera at arm's length and point it at myself! Then crop out the jowls! :-D

Thanks for that link, Mags, explained it very clearly! As I don't drive, it's not a problem for me.

these are really nice DM. I am going to get these lens types next time |I go for new specs (May next year).

I've just had my lenses replaced in the specs I had (all scratched) asked if I can have transitions as well as varifocals and it'll be ok.

They went quite dark didn't they. Think you really suit them.

Had to laugh at the thought of you standing a bus stop taking your own pic - hope noone thouht you were mad!!!!!!!!

Actually, I was sitting on the Starbucks wall, by the stop and waited till there was no one around ! :-D
