Today I got a sad call.

A man was driving & stopped his car to have a pee in the hedge  (it's a bloke thing) whilst there he noticed a box & when he approached it...the box was squeaking. On ispection there were 4 young kittens in there.

They are about 2 weeks old.

They are safe now.

Poor little things....so pleased he stopped and found them, and that they are safe and warm now.....
Sometimes, I really do hate people!!!

There's just no excuse is there?
A quick phone call & they could have been helped without having to go through this.

Its really brought it home to me, I look t the 4 I have and cannot help loving them, but some people feel nothing and do not give a dam!!!

Thank goodness they are safe and well poor little cherubs.

There is no need for people to dump animals....this kind of behaviour saddens me so much

Wasn't it fortunate that he had the call of nature at that spot.

So pleased they are now safe........ 2 weeks, what a young age to be dumped like that!

aaargghhh!! why, oh why do people still insist on doing this? As smudgley says, one phone call and taken in with no problems.

Poor little scraps.

The worst thing about holidays in Greece is the feral cats, or worse still, litters at this time of year, when you know they have less chance of being grown enough to get through winter.
There weren't too many very little ones, but we did adopt one family - mum and five (very healthy looking) kits. First spotted them in their nest at a historic site. I went up to look and mum came to me with an expectant 'Have you brought us something?' air. So, five minutes later I had dashed to the shop for a can of sardines and was poking the contents out with a stick. The babes looked about 5-6 weeks to me, but maybe they were smaller than I'm used to and were a bit older. They liked sardines! And it's so lovely watching them wash themselves and each other, after they have danced in their dinner. I loved mother, with full tum, reaching over to the nearest kit, who was himself doing that charming, industrious, kitten wash, and giving him the most enormous lick, from front toes up to tips of ear, via fishy little chops :)
There was another 2 weeks of the hloliday season left after we returned, so I hope some other Brits take over feeding my family till 2 November and give them the best of starts.

Oh, those poor kits, that makes me very angry; how can people be so unfeeling and cruel! I hope those people come back as mice the next time around! Blessings on the guy who rescued them!

As Mags said, how lucky that chap decided to pee in that place! Poor wee mites - glad they are now safe.

Dinahsmum - loved your description of the cat and her kits and the sardines. I could picture that as I read it.

I don't mean to contradict you Kelly, but that's actually a wonderfully happy story . . . this kittens were found and will all have lovely new homes.

The sad, sad stories are the ones which are never found or found too late. I do hate humanity sometimes :(

Only just catching this but what a story! Glad he cared enough to do some thing, and so now the poor mites have a chance. RIP to the little one who never made it but at least he died being cared for. :(
