I don't post very often on this board but read regularly.
I have a 18 month female cat who has been under the weather for a few days...runny tummy, grumpy etc.She also started being sick today so we took her to the vet asap.
Outcome is she has a lump high in her abdomen...options are
1/ a blockage in her intestines
2/ ruptured spleen
3/cancer.She is booked in tomorrow for surgery....
please send healing thoughts for my baby:cry:

Oh gosh, I'm sorry to hear this. I hope your little one's fine after surgery and that it's nothing terminal :(

I had a cat with an intestinal blockage (a persian). It was a huge mass of fur which they operated on and removed. He was fine after the op but had to be on a 'fast transit' diet to ensure furballs were not retained. Although obviously it means surgery and quite a log recovery, I'm hoping that a blockage is what's affecting your cat too.

So sorry to hear this Archer, like Yola I too wondered if it may be a hairball blockage.

I sincerely hope all goes well with the surgery tomorrow, will be thinking of you both. Lots of healing thoughts are on their way for your little one ..... xx

Thanks everyone. We've just dropped her off and saw the senior vet.In his opinion things don't look good.He says theres no chance its a hairball and he has advised that she has an xray first to make sure it hasn't spread .If it has he has advised that we let her go:cry: Hes going to phone us during surgery to let us know whats going on

I'm very sorry to read that Archer. I hope that something can be done to help your dear cat during surgery otherwise the vet is right - the kindest thing is to just let her slip away.

I suspect this morning's wait is going to be one of the longest hours of your life. My heart goes out to you :(

So sorry to hear this Archer :( Whilst the vet didn't sound too positive, I hope against the odds your cat can pull through and make a complete recovery. Thinking of you and your baby, and sending positive healing thoughts.

Oh phew! I was thinking no news must be bad news.
Hope the biopsy is encouraging - some wierd benign thing would be fine - and that she continues to thrive.

I'm SO pleased to read that!!!!! Of course if you don't know what the lump is it only is right that you should wait for confirmation one way or the other. Fingers crossed all over the place that it's completely benign or at worst localised so that it can be removed with no further risk.
