I received this email today, it's quite worrying if it's true......has anyone else heard of this?

Bottled water in your car.....very dangerous, woman!!!!

This is how Sheryl Crow got breast cancer. She was on the
Ellen show and said this same exact thing. This has been
identified as the most common cause of the high levels in
breast cancer, especially in Australia ..

A friend whose mother was recently diagnosed with breast
cancer. The Doctor told her: women should not drink bottled
water that has been left in a car.

The doctor said that the heat and the plastic of the bottle
have certain chemicals that can lead to breast cancer. So
please be careful and do not drink bottled water that has
been left in a car, and, pass this on to all
the women in your life. This information is the kind we
need to know and be aware and just might save us!!!!

The heat causes toxins from the plastic to leak into the
water and they have found these toxins in breast tissue. Use
a stainless steel Canteen or a glass bottle when you can!!!

Yes, I read about this a little while ago. I believe that there can be some toxins released from some plastics used for bottled water which may be carcinogenic (and therefore don't just cause breast cancer but increase the incidence of many others too).

I'm not sure of the extent of it and whether it still happens. I imagine either they'd either have to change the make up of the plastic or alternatively plaster the bottles with major health warnings!

Thanks for that link, Carole ....apparently it's one of those urban legends. Scary thought, though. I don't have a car or drink bottled water but probably would have e-mailed that to a few friends ......

I still think you need to be careful about refilling plastic bottles with water as I have heard that the plastic in most bottled water does breakdown over a period of time. Most bottled water will tell you not to refil the bottle.
