The National Cathedral is quite close to where I live; I enjoy visiting the Bishop's Garden, It's an old established mature walled garden, and one of the most peaceful, tranquil places you can imagine. I go a few times a year and remembered to take the camera this time...

A few shots of the Cathedral itself: too close to get an entire view:

Really lovely photos Eileen - thanks so much. :D :D :D

They reminded me of the Bishop's Gardens in the precincts of Chichester Cathedral. I used to go there a lot in the summer when I worked in Chichester and sit on the grass and have my sandwich. I must take a trip into Chichester soon anyway (as some friends gave me a yearly "friends" ticket to a prestigious art gallery in the city) and when I do I shall have to remember to take my camera to take some photos for you in return!

Serene is exactly right, Alex..it is so peaceful. The Cathedral is stunning too; Reagan's State funeral was held there, as were lots of other dignitaries' Wish you could visit it; very popular with tourists, but usually the garden is quiet.
