It's my understanding Jules that garlic is a no-no for cats, as are onions. Having said that, Merlin loves bolognaise (sp??) sauce which has garlic in - but he only has a little lick! I wouldn't have thought giving a cat a garlic pill would be a good idea.

Can I ask why you are considering it?

I have been advised to give the dog garlic tablets to help with fleas, just wondered if the cats could have some too.

Having a bit of a flea problem at the mo, even though they have all been treated with frontline!

I would say definitely NO! Feeding raw garlic can cause a form of anemia and death. I don't know if the pills contain raw or cooked, but I would not take the chance!

I think I saw a thread in which Smudgley recommended Capstar tablets -

Much safer than garlic and probably more effective too, especially if used in conjunction with a good household flea spray such as Acclaim.
