Well, as the sun is shining and the garden's tidy I've finally got around to taking pictures of the new path :D

Here are some before, after and interim:

The path and step in their dull, ugly old concrete . . . .

The concrete path is up and the reclaimed brick edging and brick step facing is going down:

Finished path and step, this time, unlike the back garden it's real sandstone . . . I love it :D

Thats seriously smart Yola, I wonder have you ever tred to find out what the house looked like orginaly when it was built? I would find that interesting....and who had lived there....but its had some lovely families living in it like yours....houses have a feeling and your looks friendly and welcoming from even just pictures. Also agree ith Mags I think of Sebi as a baby....."hush my mouth"

that is very pretty Yola!! I like the fact you've used reclaimed brick, and I echo the Sebi sentiments lol.

Eileen - it's lush and thiriving because it hasn't stopped raining this summer!!

Yes, Sebi is a little boy now . . . he'll be 2 in a couple of weeks  Thanks for your lovely comments, he's a beautiful little boy with a touch of devil in him :-D

Karen, I do have some pictures of the house from the mid-1800s. It doesn't show the front garden (apart from a huge tree in it), but it does show the original, classical iron railings it had. I'll try and dig it/them out.

Edit to say, yes the house has a really good, warm feeling about it. Katy (step daughter who 'knows' about such things says there are no evil vibes). We have researched some past owners as far back as about 1830. The house was built in the 1810s. One was a grocer, another was a spinster and yet another was a gentelman of independent means . . . i.e., someone who didn't have to work for a living!

Very nice Yola - such an improvement. I think of Sebi as a baby too, what a lovely little boy, obviously going to be as handsome as his big bruv!
