Eva was advertised in my old vets reception. The vet brought it to my attention after we lost Woody and said it would help bring out the kitten in Winston, how wrong was he? Very wrong:lol: Anyway, she came from a small coastal town just out side of Aberdeen.;)
Bernie came from Flintshire Cat Rescue and Diddydawn:D

My cats came from a range of places-
Smudge was dumped on a farm, I knew the owner, we took her and others took her 2 siblings.
Samson just moved in one day.
Spice and her sister came via a local rescue, they asked if we would take them or they were going to be PTS.
Candy was fostered for same rescue, but she was so aggressive we decided to keep her, rather than risk her being handed back.
We got Pumpkin and Mustard from the CPL.
We were friends with the daughter of Sooty's owner, when she was diagnosed with terminal cancer, she wanted him PTS, her daughter persuaded her to let us have him.
Misty was taken in by the rescue again, and again we were asked to take her as they thought she would be hard to rehome at 18.
Triger who we lost recently, came via the vets, he had caught his leg in a snare and the owner didn't want him or the bill after that.

Actually, we've never bought a cat.
All dead now, but
Snowy was found as a 4 week old kitten outside my work.
Spats was from the CPL.
Chokki was Spice's sister.

Denis - is the only cat we have got from an animal sanctuary (Freshfield)
Tigger + Ginger - Dumped on the doorstep at days old, wrapped in a blanket in a carrier bag eyes still closed, weaned by us Tigger died at 18 from a tumour and Ginger was killed by a dog on my doorstep (owner slipped his lead to kill my cat)
Tinker - Came crying around the house, no owner located so we kept him (originally called Tinkerballs but shortened when the nads came off)
Fluffy - Taken out of next doors garden as they didn't look after her
Susie - taken from next door as they didn't look after her

Misty came from a breeder as he is a pedigree Birman. The others all came from the Animal Sanctuary where I used to be a volunteer. I just felt so sorry for them and couldn't resist! When we first saw Sidney (he is disabled) My daughter felt so sorry for him that she begged me to let her have him! A friend of mine who was also a volunteer there got really chooked up when she first saw him.

Sam from a pet shop, I didn't know any better then either..:?

Cassie was from a newspaper ad. We followed the given directions and ended right in the middle of the countryside. Found the cottage, the owner said follow me in your car. We were taken down country lanes to a field where there was a hut......inside the dark hut was Cassie and her littermates, no sign of mum:( Cassie looked so frightened that I had to have her and get her away from there, she had had no socialisation at all. It took ages for her to accept us but she is still very timid to this day.

I'd never heard Cassie's story before, Mags, how touching! And she certainly turned out to be a gorgeous cat!

My Su-ling was a very nervous cat also; I found out later from his pedigree that he was quite inbred...his mother was also his grandmother... ; but he was a wonderful loving cat with me and Dad.

Merlin was brought into the office where I worked by a colleague. She said that the kitten who was then about 12 weeks old was the cause of a girl she knew being threatened with eviction by her landlord, so a new home had to be found for "Brockley". He came home with me that afternoon!

Smudge arrived, rather spookily, on our doorstep on a very cold frosty night. So she found us and stayed. I always think that is a very true honour.

Is this truly a coincidence - Arthur and Merlin both found their new homes for the same reason????????

Anyone else got a cat with an "Arthurian" name?

Posh walked up the path on November 27th last year. Heaven knows where she came from Apparently she'd been straying in the area for over a week, fed on occassions by neighbours who couldn't take her in, and living on her wits.
For such a posh and seemingly pampered puss this must have been a bit of a shock! I feel she was brought up well as she was litter tray trained, eats small portions on demand ( not a 'wolfer') and had impeccacble fur , no mats, and clean paws. She wasn't chipped or spayed, but full of flea dirt and cat flu, poor baby.I always call her my little miracle, who fell from heaven, like an angel, into my arms. How anyone could have abandoned her I don't know, but I'm eternally grateful for the chance to share her life.
We tried all ways to find her owner, then after a month we decided she was ours and we haven't looked back.

I will have more cats when the time is right. I feel Posh could do with company. When that happens, you will all be the first to know ;-)

Clementine and her brothers were an accidental ragdoll to farm cat mating of someone my mother knew, she had know use for the "unprofitable moggies" so churned them back onto her stable yard when the litter were about four weeks old, and they took residence with one of the dogs. We took them off her hands and found good homes for the boys, and kept Clem. It's strange how I didn't keep one of the boys actually, considering they were all ginger!
Maxwell & William were born here.:)

Tabs was from someone down the road, their cat had kittens, outside, in March...

Kiara was from a breeder.

Vitaani was from some woman who was keeping her in a cage because her other cat and dogs didn't get on with her, she'd had her from 4 weeks I got her at 6 *apparently*. Said lady got her 'out the paper'.

Jennie was from someone who's cat had kittens unexpectedly, came to us via rescue.

Nipper and Tucker came from my friend's farm, a stray decided it was a good place to have her kittens.

Colin and Princess where born here.

Anakin came from a pet shop, went in to get a rat cage and came out with a kitten. I know, I know.

- Sliver & Snowball came from two different animal shelters.
- Sage, Spici, & Sasha came from a pet store which we will never buy from again because all 3 have different problems. Sasha was bought from the same pet store but just came to us from owners who were not taking proper care of her.
- Sushie came from a newspaper ad.
- Spooky came from my husbands friends cat who had kittens.
- Shilo & Sadee are Spookys babies.

Smudge came from a breeder (I think - I was too young to remember getting her at the time)

Beauty came from the local rescue centre. Went there looking to become a volunteer and left with Beauty! :-D

Portia came from a local independent rescue centre, Quando was a rehome pedigree from a breeder who had health problems and Mister F was bought from a breeder who is now a good friend. New ones are coming from respected breeders :D
