Six Kilos of Cat (and other pics!)

By request, I've tried to get a few snaps of the boys that show off their impressive size. I weighed them for the first time the other day and discovered that Darcy is 5.8 Kilos and Stravinsky is 6 Kilos! (A stone each).

Looking over the photos again it does look like they have a wee bit of a belly on them, but to be honest, I don't really notice it in person - and as I said, I purposely set out to capture their true size, so they're not exactly the most flattering shots ;) (Just don't tell them that! ;) )

Great pictures meep - thanks. I think the 2nd one of Minsky stretched out shows that he is not only a BIG cat, but a long-body too! And I love that last picture - Darcy being gorgeous.

Thanks angieh :) I'd agree, they are both really long cats, and seem to enjoy the fact as they both quite frequently let their back legs go floppy and pull themselves out on the carpet just by their front legs and continually do that for a while stretching - bless.

Bless Cassie! It is a hilarious thing to watch them do, and my two haven't yet started on the furniture although if they did i'd probably find it too amusing to make them stop!

My two have yet to spy the other cat pics on Catsey although they have taken a taking to my laptop due to the heating radiating out the back when i use it!

What stunning boys! I love their names also, and that last pic is priceless; makes a great avatar! We have some big cats here: Moli's Chancer, Random's Tucker and my Leia come to mind ...all the more to love!

Pinklizzy - they do have a LOT of hair too, need to invest in a brush methinks. I love their little fuzz :)

Dandysmom - I do love big cats! My two girls at home, Sophie and Chaska, are both really wee. Sophie looks a lot like a British blue (but has some torti in her) and Chaska is literally a runt and even though she's 7, she looks about 9 months old! So these boys are a total change to what I'm used to, but I do love them so :) Will have a wee peek for photos of Chancer, Tucker and Leia now :)

What lovely chunky monkeys :D They don't look too fat to me . . . simply big boys :-D But I know what you mean about keeping an eye on them and their weight . . .

My 2 boy cats drag themselves around the scratching post but unfortunately the post is on a wooden floor and the simply end up dragging the unfortunate post around the dining room :lol: :shock: :lol:

Cats and wooden floors are a hilarious combination. If i through Minsky a ball from the carpeted living room to wooden hall floor he'll bolt it out and then suddenly skid right along the floor - very comic Tom and Jerry style :lol:

Thanks HappyKatz :) They do love their scratching pole, and the sun (perhaps as it's so few and far between up here in Scotland!)

They do have mesmerizing eyes; one of my ravourite things about cats, their gorgeous eyes :D

With colouring I've noticed Darcy is much more tabby with 'ginger' whilst Minsky is more tabby with grey.

Here's a pic of my 9 year old 14 pound girl! She's not fat, just a long, tall cat!

Oh, and as to hair, have you considered a Furminator? Cat grooming tool, unbelievable how much fur it removes from the coat. Several threads about it on here; many of the members have one and swear by them!

She weighs exactly the same as Stravinsky and has the same build as him, but of course more feminine and pretty :)

She is gorgeous, and she looks so happy and content with her catnap there! I love her colours and markings, such a pretty silver colour. And Leia is one of the names I've always wanted to call a cat if I ever got a girl :D

We are all a bit biased, but she is gorgeous - very very pretty :)

And I did see the tread on furminators, have been looking at them on ebay all day! Have seen one which is 1.75 inches - is this far too small or ok for a cat? It is the cheapest one available on ebay...
