My cat Domino is really old, 20 years old
She took a bad turn about 2 hours ago & since then she's got worse
She's not moved & doesnt look like she has the energy to move at all.
Fast breathing then moved to slow breathing
Looking like she's not going to make it thru the nyt
I had her on my lap but she kept trying to move
I don't know but i think she wants to be on her own
Shud i sit with her n talk 2 her & pet her or leave her on my pillow alone?

Can you not get her to a vet if she seems that bad?

What do you mean by 'bad turn', what happened?

Keep her with you, don't leave her alone.

I wouldn't leave her alone.

Does she have any medical conditions, or do you think you're losing her to old age?

Do you not have an emergency vets in your area you could call for advice? even if you don't take her down.

I'm sorry I can't suggest anything else. :(

So sorry to read your post scottyrae. I can understand you not wanting veterinary intervention, especially if Domino is going peacefully - it is after all a natural passage from one state to another. I would only be worried if your cat was in pain or distressed, then I would find an emergency vet to pts.

Has the cat been in good health up until this point? If so I would be inclinced to go to the vet as it's a sudden change in behaviour and might be treatable. Jmo.

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss scottyrae but it does seem she went in the best way possible, in her home, with you beside her, peacefully. And you seemed very intune with her to realise she was passing on. (hugs)

I'm so very sorry that you've lost your beautiful Domino so suddenly - she was a stunning cat.

However, I do think it was lovely that her last moments were peaceful in her own home and with the person she felt closest to.

She was a beautiful girl. She passed over in the best way possible; with you at her side.

Play hard at the Bridge, Domino.

So sorry to hear about Domino. She was born the same year as my son - what an amazing age for a cat! I think the way she passed was the best way possible. (((hugs))) to you.
