Could I please ask you to say a wee prayer for my beloved Gran today. She had a stroke last night, and isn't expected to make it. She apparently told my aunt that her mum is coming for her today. I'm really upset as I can't get to Scotland until at least tomorrow, and I get the feeling that I am going to be too late.

Thanks x

Dear Alex,
Only just catching up with this thread, I hope and pray your Gran will recover, don't give up. A lot of older people fear strokes but they can be treated and a good recovery made now. Remember that because her speech is affected she can communicate in other ways, give her lots of touch therapy, it really works! :)

What is the latest on her condition, Alex?

the latest is that she is doing fabulously!! They now don't think she had a stroke at all, but was suffering from a virus and was dehydrated. She has been up walking about the later part of this week and is communicating somewhat :) So thank you all for your good wishes xx
