Last picture, if you look at the top right hand side you can see a large long fish, OH thought it was a Cornetfish but I think it is a Great Barracuda

Wow, lovely pics Emma. You must have courage to scuba dive/snorkel. I could NEVER do it

Poshpuss I cannot swim out of my depth and I didn't need to as the fish and coral were only waist height. We did an introductory scuba dive and you don't even have to be able to swim to do it, as the instructor leads you around the coral all you have to do is kick your feet.

Pinklizzy the water was incredibly clear :) far clearer than the picture show.

Thanks everybody,

Charlie I know you have done quite a bit of scub diving, what is the best place to learn. Also what underwater camera would you recommend

Thanks everybody,

I think anywhere apart from the UK is a good place to learn, as long as you use a good reputable PADI dive centre and feel comfortable. :)

I wouldn't learn in the UK as you'd be learning in a dry suit, as opposed to a wet suit, and the buoyancy techniques are totally different.

I did my Open Water course in Australia, my Advanced Open Water in Borneo and Thailand and my Underwater Photography Speciality last year in Indonesia.

I'm not just a tropital diver though - I have dived in the Med :) Malta is a great place for diving. Perhaps that would be a good starting place, Emma.

As for cameras, there is so much choice now. It can be confusing :? Do you have a dive shop near you - that would be the best place to ask! (we have one in Northampton and we're nowhere near the sea :? ;) )
