I hope I'm not overdoing this, but I am soooo taken with this plant! I can just see it next year blooming next to the orange daylilies....:D
These are pics I took this morning on the way home from the market. They give a better impression of the size, and the color is truer than in that link I posted before......

I love blue flowers.
That's really nice Eileen, would the pot be too much for you to carry home?

Yes, Mags, way way too heavy! It's a 20 minute walk, part of it uphill to boot! I've ordered seeds; am sure it's too late this season for them to bloom, but they are marginally hardy here in my climate zone and may overwinter with mulching; also, they can be grown indoors as a pot plant according to one link .......

I like strong color contrasts like that..... on next years garden schedule is a lovely plant I heard of thru Kazz and Alex: Geum Mrs Bradshaw, which would be very nice next to Johnson's Blue geranium and some blue platycodon......
I do not go in much for pastels...:-D
Its really lovley DM..Pity you could not get someone to help you carry it home...

I like a bit of a mixture - accents of bold colour contrasts are great I think. I was amazed when I first saw these berries on a small tree in a garden I was visiting -

They didn't look real somehow - that red and orange together. It's called the European Spindle Berry - don't know if you have a similar tree or shrub in U.S.?
Just read a bit about it DM, seemingly it will root in water, maybe you could get a cutting??

You could perhaps ask the shop whether you could try taking a cutting - even offer to pay something?
