Could I ask you all to just spare a moment to give some healing thoughts to Oscar Bear. He's a year old tabby who belongs to one of the nurses I work with.

She returned home yesterday to find him with blood running from his eye which was completely closed. He had ruptured his eye and the retina was completely detatched. He was referred to a specialist and unfortunately his eye could not be saved and he has undergone surgery today to remove his eye :(

I would love to be able to pass on some lovely messages for her :)

Oh poor baby :( I hope he comes through really well and improves quickly. Was it an RTA? I know someone who's cat had something similar and that was due to being hit by a car.

Whatever the cause, strong vibes coming over for a speedy return to full health.

Thank you so much everyone I shall pass on your messages to her tomorrow :)

Her first thought was an RTA but there were no scuffs to his claws or any other injuries related to an RTA. It almost looked as though something had penetrated the eye, either a stick or maybe even from a cat fight.

Hopefully he will mend quickly. Our local farm cat, Skittles, only has one eye and manages very well.
