my cat has stoped meowing :shock: and when i get him to do one its just so quiet and he seems fed up and no his normal nosiey self dont know whats wrong with him:(

Has he got laryngitis? Or has he swallowed something that might be lodged in his throat and is causing an irritation? Have you spoken to/visited a vet to see what might be wrong?

If your cat has usually been vocal, I'd go with Yola above and take him along to see the vet.

i just noticed it to day hes eating and drinking ok :?

If this is out of character for him then I'd get him along to the vet for a wee check. Better safe than sorry.

i will, i got him tin of cat food as hes spitting out his biscuits,he managed a squeek thats all,hes eatting alot

U should get ur wee kitty to the vet just in case, always better to b safe then sorry! U can have my kittys MEAWO as hes 1 noisey kitty! Its so sweet sometimes but when ur trying to sleep he can b a nitemare LOL

My Stan had similar symptoms a while back but he was retching as well. I took him to the vet and he had an infection and was on pills for a while. Then he got his voice back!

yeh he coughed 2 days ago and he gulped a few times but was playing after that,now hes wanting out

I agree it would be wise to get him to the vet. Coughing, swallowing, loss of voice...may not be too serious if he's eating OK and playing, but better safe than sorry......

I wonder if he swallowed something or choked and it made him hoarse?? I would get him checked out
