Eva has been somewhat aloof since I came back from Wales. I thought she was just having a big fat sulk with me for going away.
Graham had mentioned that he thought she was acting nervous and wondered if some one had hit her or something. I said i didnt think that any one would have hit her but agreed that her demenour has changed.
Now Eva has always loved her bedtime cuddles and chooses to lie ontop of me often through out the night or on the pillow above my head.
But just take a look at this......

I dont mind that Bernie has chosen that spot, I just worry my the Diva's ego;)

Leo was sleeping in the spare room instead of on my sons bed, it was what made me realise he was not right....

She's not sick, have been keeping an eye on her as she is prone to stress induced cystitus. She is eating and drinking just fine and has just been meowing like hell at me, so maybe she will begin to put Bernie back in his place again:lol:
Eva normally sleeps ontop of my head unlike Bernie sleeping just above my head.:-D

Ok panick over. Eva has been very vocal this evening, I just picked her up for a cuddle and she almost had my face off:shock:
Next she decided she did want a cuddle after all and jumped up on her own, she has just jumped down and took chase after Bernie.
I hope he enjoyed sleeping on my pillow last night coz i dont think he'll get the chance to do it again for a loooooong time:lol:
Fancy being pleased at having the nasty side of the Diva back again:-D
I think she just missed you, whenever I went away on hols, the cats alwas shifted sleeping habits......getting closer I was once told that your pillow smells of you more than any other part of the bed as your skin comes in contact and they are literally just "feeling" safe sleeping here they can smell you.................this sounds bad written down but sure you understand. It makes them nervous unsettled loosing contact with you. They are literally just reafirming your/their scent in their "gang/family"
Thats how I always looked at it.

In our house, where Merlin sleeps is determined by how warm it is. If it's cold, Merlin is always with us - usually in the middle, like a chaperone! Although if he goes to bed at the same time as I do, he usually goes to sleep on top of me and I have to doze sitting up until he decides to move down the bed, then I can snuggle down. ;) ;) ;)
If the house is warm, Merlin usually sleeps in the lounge on OH's chair. In fact, Merlin will evict OH from his chair when he (Merlin) thinks it is time for him (OH) to go to bed and for Merlin to curl up and go to sleep!!! :-D :-D :-D
Smudge very rarely was allowed on my bed. It was Merlin's territory, the exception being if I was ill and then both cats would come and be nurse!!! :D :D :D

See Bernie's place has always been at the foot of the bed, often humping my feet before settling down for a sleep:lol:
Anyway, I went to bed last night and found Bernie on the pillow again. He got off as I got into bed and Eva then jumped up to her rightful place on my chest for a cuddle. She then settled down beside me. Then a very sneaky Bernie walk up over my body and onto the pillow again:lol:
Eva didnt stir though as she would have normally chased him off.
Aww...all friends again! :-D
Sounds like Bernie missed you too...

Sounds like one big happy family at your place...wonder how long before the Diva becomes the Diva again? Sort of bodes well for little Mutley coming, doesn't it.....

Ok everything is now back to normal and as it should be. Eva is back to cuddling me and whacking poor Bernie. Bernie no longer lies on my pillow for fear of being whacked and has reverted back to the foot of the bed.
The only thing thats different? They can both now lie and sleep within an inch of eachother, almost cuddling:lol:

She's the alpha cat without a doubt; hope he will bond with Mutley so the boys can commiserate together about being ruled with an iron (and whacking) paw ......:-D
