I normally go the hairdressers but everyone I know colours their own hair.

Well I thought I would give it a go. I have bought Garnier nutrisse cream, in the same colour as I get done in the hairdressers, nothing too adventerous and I'm thinking how hard can it be?? :?

So any tips would be good as I haven't coloured my own hair since I put a pink mousse on it at 16!!!!

My OH usually does mine for me! Only tip I have is to put vaseline or similar on your ears and around hairline-if any dye gets onto your skin, you should be able to wipe it off easily. Oh, and have some old towels handy.

My husband does mine.
He always does a lovely job. :)
Just follow the instructions & you'll be fine.

Good luck - used to colour my hair myself all the time, but don't do it now. Today's colourants are so much better than the peroxide I used to use!!!!! Eeeek - can't think about it now!

use lots of old towels to cover yourself.wear an old top u dont mind getting stained. wear surgical gloves, cause if they provide the plastic ones they are usless. make sure u have some bathroom cleaner to clear up any splashes.
and do a patch test first, if u have never used a home kit b4 best be on the safe side.
good luck and we want pics of the finished results.

C'mon, be brave :D :D

I used to colour my hair when I did a single shades (black, black/white, auburn, ginger) etc, but since having highlights for a good few years now I've had them professionally done.

Glad yours turned out good . . . what colour did you do?
