Foofoo had to be starved for an anaesthetic last night and today.
I woke up this morning to find her sitting on the food mat looking at my with THOSE eyes and crying. Felt so awful. If only they understood....:?

Aww bless her. Eva does that to me every time I walk into the kitchen:lol:
I have to admit when Cleo had to not eat before her Op I did not eat either the dogs ate while she was asleep ;) and while she was at the vets......and Dave was banned from eating at all - things we do for them
They make you feel so guilty too...

They know exactly how to tug on the heartstrings, don't they? And there is no way to explain to them......
They can certainly turn on the sad expression when they want!

I call it the "small starving kitty" face; I don't know how a rather large girl like Leia can manage to do it, but she does...... and does it very well.... :-D

Lol I feel for you. Mine do it when they are just hungry, let alone having no food cos of an op ;)
*begging eyes* pleeeeeeeease, I haven't been fed for THREE WEEKS!

She hardly ever begs for food so when she does it its even more heartbreaking. She's definitely making up for it now - 2 pouches. I decided to give her Hills I/D so hopefully I won't find a pile of sick in the morning....

And this is usually (certainly in the case of our two) five minutes after they have been fed and they've discovered we are eating.....

Poor little thing. That sounds like everytime I'm not back to feed Denis and OH asks why he keeps crying, and I have to explain it's because you haven't fed him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great - got home from work and guess what I found..... yep a nice bit of sick on the rug. Oh well, at least it wasn't on the sofas which were cleaned yesterday for £140!!
That's what you get for starving her. Poor Foofoo. Only joking.
I know how you feel. I had to starve Sasha las night from 9pm as she was having a thyroidectomy today. All went well and I bought her some prawns this evening as a special treat.

Hope everything went well with Sasha and that she really enjoyed her special treat.
Thanks Kay, yes she is doing really well. She has some metacam for 5 days, to keep her pain free. She is purring & eating well. Her poor neck is shaved and the op site is very swollen, but the vet said this is to be expected. She is back on Saturday for a check up. Op cost £269, not including previous consultations, meds and blood test!! Thank goodness for insurance!
