This may seem a little random...

I just got a 4 and a half month old kitten after losing my 13 year old lovely that I'd had since being a child...

This new kitty - Mr DeLuca - is a dear little soul, however he has a quiet purr....my previous cat had a loud one that I miss terribly.

So, I was just wondering if any of you know if kitty's pur grows with kitty?

I don't believe so, sorry to say. Some cats just have naturally louder purrs than others, and it doesn't seem to change with age. What color is Mr. DeLuca? I had a friend by that name at work many years ago, a lovely person..

He's a gorgeous ginger tabby - very unusual. I could eat him. (but I won't of course:))

My mums cat has only just started to purr (she is about 10), the neighbour didn't look after it so my mum got it (the second one we have had to do that with), anyway hers is very faint so maybe it will come with security. Any pics of Mr Deluca??

Jason purrs quite readily though it's not particularly loud.

Molly purrs only rarely and it's sometimes accompanied by visible fast breathing as though she's really frightened about something. "Ooh, save me! my Mummy's stroking me, and being gentle, and talking calmly to me, HELP!"

One of my old cats Angel (male cat - don't ask), used to purr so loudly and for so long he would start squeaking while he was doing it. I always told my OH that he broke his purr, that's what it sounded like, an old squeaky toy that broke:D

Yeah, my last cat (:() Mr Smedley had a purr so loud he would squeek. I miss it terribly. Mr Deluca's purr is getting louder, I think it may come with security. Also he's still growing so maybe as his voice box gets bigger his purr will. He's very happy here though...

I have photo's but dont' quite know how to put them on here!
