I give these every year at Christmas, and of course have to buy myself a new one too..:) it's nice to have something blooming in the cold, bleak Winter....

It's a beauty, Dandysmom! They are amazing how they produce such wonderful flowers with basically only what's stored up in that bulb. Isn't nature wonderful?

That is lovely. I love them. I used to get the bulb to grow myself and they always grew well. Will do that next year I think

Very pretty Eileen:D
Very pretty . . . I've only seen scarlet ones and white ones rather than the soft pink that yours is - but then I'm not an amarylis expert; my Mum always has them in her house that's how I know . . .

If you or anyone would like to see some stunning ones, here's a link to White's Flower Farm, where I've been getting them for years. They don't ship overseas, but the pics are great to look at on a cold Winter day. I always order the prepotted ones; so friends who aren't really into gardening can enjoy them...just water, sit in a sunny window and that's it!

But if you see a variety you especially like, Moli, you could check your nurseries there to see if they carry it...I have about 10 from Whites........
