:( This morning Posh was unusually quiet, as you know she's been calling as we await her spaying.I noticed some strange yellow/brown vomit and a hard lump in it ( sorry:oops: ) I disposed of it thinking it was a hairball but then noticed my bouquet of lilies and roses had been tipped over. Despite putting them high up I think she tried to eat the lilies and the stamen powder was te clue. It's around her mouth and she's been very sleepy all day. Not yowling , off her food and not grooming as much, I've been sitting quietly with her, she is mewing and purring, her breathing is steady but her gums are pale. No futher vomiting seen. Should I get the on call vet to see her? Should I take her tomorrow for a check up? I'm in a quandry.

OK. Back from the vets. She's staying in overnight for fluids and blood tests, she doesn't look too bad, the vet was quite positive but can't commit to anything. We just have to see how it goes. I can't believe how emotional I feel and I thank God that I logged in and told you. Bless you all!
You may just have saved her life !

Posh is in the right place, she will be well looked after and monitored at the vets ...... sending her healing vibes and ((((hugs)))) to you...

Good news from the vets. Seems she's been well overnight. They had a bit of a job putting the IV needle in, she fought them off bravely, lots of human trauma!! oops! Taking fluids but not passed urine yet but her bladder is full so the kidneys seems to be ok (phew). She's being transfered from the on call vets to our own vet hospital this morning.
Once again, thank you all for your wonderful support and good wishes, Posh is getting all your good vibes :)

We got her backfrom the vets in Merthyr at 6pm last night. Darling girl was staaarving! So had some nice fresh chicken breast, hand fed of course ! The vets had shaved her two front shins and her backleg and a small part of her throat. She had put up a fair old struggle but the vet nurses, who I know very well, were very understanding and said they had her calm and purring when the IV got going eventually. She's peed and poohed overnight here. We have starved her from 10pm for more bloods to be done today to check kidney function. Just back in from dropping her off again. Bless her, little thing went into her carrier again quite nicely but she mewed all the time in the car and she knew where she was when we arrived in the vet hosp.
No New Year sales shopping for me, but I have to thank the girls on CATSEY forum for saving my kitty's life; she's worth every penny

Ps If you want Lillie's in the house take out the pollen stems.

Jac, I did read somewhere that it's not just the pollen that's dangerous but chewing leaves/petals/plant stems can also be very bad.

Fifi chewed some dried leaves off a lily and was quite poorly a few years back; thankfully they were dry and much of the dangerous content had disappeared.

Good to hear Posh is back home AND has an appetite. Hope her tests go well today. Will she be back with you later today? And hey, what are a few cheap frocks compared to a healthy kitty :-D

Glad to hear that she's made a good recovery, hopefully these other tests will come back nice and clear and she'll be back home with no probs! And anyway, more clothes would just end up in the charity bag next year lol, whereas Posh will pay you back for many years to come with lots of purrs!
