My son and his girlfriend just bought a young ginger Tom home that had been hit by a car, we have taken him to our vets, he has knocked a tooth out almost, and she thinks one side of his jaw if slightly out of line, he could stand on his legs thank goodness, he has had a painkiller, he is concussed too,
Have to phone tomorrow to see how he is, pleased keep your fingers crossed he will recover....
Typically he is not neutered!!only about 18 months old...:(

He has a broken Jaw, and is blind, they are not sure if the blindness was caused by the blow to the head....
He is having his jaw wired and neurered at the same time, then going into foster with a friend if mine, The CPL here is bursting at the seams:(
Just waiting to hear if his blood test is clear..

Poor baby :( If he was blind before the accident WTH was he doing out unsupervised???

Glad he's at least being fostered somewhere loving, he deserves it poor boy. Hope his jaw heals cleanly, I believe they usually recover well from it.

I am really hoping its been cause by the blow to his head, cannot imagine anyone allowing a blind cat out...

IF his blindness was caused by the blow to his head, is there any chance he may regain his sight, d'you think Moli???

Poor lambkin, but he's lucky in that he will go to someone who will look after him until he can be re-homed.

My Miss Moofi had a bad blow to her left eye and now she's partially blind :cat25 we thought it might recover but not so in her case :cat25 Saying that, she is fine and can still jump and run about like a raptor :cat10

A friend of my in the UK has a blind kitty and of course she has to keep him in but he gets around the house just fine. They just have to make sure they dont move the furniture about too much.

They say we will know in48hours if he will regain his sight, the vet told me he is totally blind but will walk towards you, sounds as if he has adjusted to being blind, which means it was not cause by the accident......

So good to hear he came through OK and is getting some loving :) Does sound as if he was blind before which just beggars belief that he was allowed out on his own :(

Hope he finds his forever home, lovely boy.

The vets are more or less sure the accident made him blind, he has had a really bad knock to his head...What amazes me is, after all he has been through he purrs and cuddles in..He is only about 12 months old too...looks as though he has been looked after, although I would say he is very small...

Sending healing vibes to the poor wee boy; I do hope he can recover his sight if it was accident-caused...cannot imagine anyone letting a blind cat outside......
They do cope amazingly well with blindness: my Misty hid hers so cleverly it was a while before I realized she'd lost her sight; and as Moofster said, don't rearrange the furniture!!
