Came downstairs on Sunday morning to feed them all and Rosie had already made her contribution in the form of a rat! Fortunately it was dead but that is the first time she has managed anything that big. Alfie looked less than impressed when he saw it (just jelous). I know it was Rosie because she had come in the night before after I had gone to bed really yalling, which she usually does when she is pleased with herself.

Shouldn't all rodents be hiberating now?

Clever Rosie.. :D ..... can't say I'd be too pleased to find a dead rat in the house when I got up though!

Well done Rosie! Puts me in mind of my lovely girl (gone but never far away) Smudge. We had not had her long so she was probably only just a year old and came down one morning to find a rat that, nose to tip of tail was bigger than she was. There was quite a lot of blood about, but none of it was Smudge's. She got extra breakfast that day!

Dawr bless her.

Nope, rats don't hibernate. Wild rats are extremely resilient.

Aww bless her. Mine wouldn't have a clue what to do even if a rat ran up and hit them on the nose.
