:-D Should you wish to accept it :-D is to resolve my "problem"

I am looking for a plant for the garden. Not fussed if it is evergreen would kinda like some sort of flowers/colour change. Would be in full sun - not a hard task eh?

Considering a Magnolia, Azelea, or Camellia ..... but would love some suggestions from all of you. Do not want a rose, thank you.:-D

Azaleas and camellias do better with some partial shade, at least here. I adore tree peonies, that's an excellent idea! Would the magnolia be evergreen or deciduous? The evergreen ones can grow two stories or higher and are rather messy: oodles of old brown leaves and seed pods galore. But the flowers are stunning. I love the deciduous ones, but if your area is prone to a sudden late freeze when the buds are opening the flowers turn into brown mush...that happens here with great regularity!!

Me too Emma, I love the Akashigata, looks like its glowing from within. :)
Just the vibrancy of the Shin Shimano-kagayaki reallycaught my eye.

In fact i can see me having more and more of those even though they seem to not flower till the 2nd year. All the best things come to those who wait.

Are you planning any in your border - I would ;)

Kazz, I know this is a US site for tree peonies, but the pics are so lovely I thought you might like to look at it. I'm planning on putting in two next Spring, probably a yellow and a purple.......
