Do cats get induced (like humans) if they go too far over term? Sorry if it's a stupid question . . . :oops:

Not a stupid question, but no they can't be induced. :)

Oh come on beautiful kittens!

I thought they could be induced myself as i'm sure when Tarny went over her dates the vet said something about inducing the labour and if not then a c-section would be needed, I can't quite remember now exactly as luckily she went into labour herself before any action was needed so I didn't really think about it again. I guess I must be mistaken.

They can only be induced (not really the right term here, but you know what I mean) if they are alredy in the early stages of labour, if things need speeding up. But if there are no signs they can't be induced as the cervix will not be open & to give oxytocin in that situation can be dangerous.
